Taking and sharing images is a very common practice within organisations and we are all very familiar with seeing images of sports events, awards, AGMs, Christmas parties on social media, within whatsapp groups and newsletters etc.
Underneath the sharing of images, there is a ‘home exclusion clause’ that can be applied to many instances with regard to photo taking and sharing. This clause covers the use of sharing images in a household or personal setting. This covers the taking of pictures but what you do with them is also important.
When attending an event if the images taken are used in a commercial capacity then you cant rely on the home exclusion clause.
